Gary Martin, Brooks NIL Athlete, All about racing cross-country, and tips for racing in cross-country and track!

On December 6, Gary Martin took third in the 5,000 meters at the BU Sharon Colyear-Danville Opener, in 13:05.57, a nearly 8 second PB! What a great track opener after his 7th place in the NCAA Cross Country Championships on November 22, 2025.

Sadie Engelhardt is always running. Sadie took 51rst in the NCAA Cross Country as a freshman, helping her team, NC State to the NCAA title. Last weekend, December 6, 2025, Sadie finished 17th in the 3,000 meter indoors in 9:09.47, her PB at the Sharon Colyear-Danville Boston Opener, on December 6, 2025!

On December 6, 2025, Jaelyn Williams almost stole the NXN away from the field! Natasza Dudek took control of the race, winning in 16:50.1 over Blair Bartlett, 16:51.7. Jaelyn held on to third in 16:58, as the Brooks NIL athlete shook it up with the big ones! Watch Jaeyln Williams compete in the Brooks XC 2025 presented by Fleet Feet Sports next weekend, December 13, 2025 in San Diego, CA! On December 13, 2025, Jaeyln Williams followed up her CIF win, third at NXN with a fine third at the Brooks XC National Championships presented by Fleet Feet.

Brandon Miller is one of the finest 800-meter runners in the U.S., taking fifth in a PB of 1:43.14 in the 2025 USATF Outdoor Championships, breaking a personal best by .38 from May 2025. Danny Mackey is the founding coach of the Brooks Beasts Track Club, where he coaches athletes from the 800 meters to the marathon. Most of his athletes compete in distances ranging from 800 meters to 10,000 meters. In the interview, we pick Danny’s mind on essential training techniques.

Danny Mackey can be seen on cross-country courses, indoor and outdoor track meets and soon to be seen on road races around the world!
