MOSCOW (RUS, Feb 29): At the Pole Vault Festival, reigning world champion Anzhelika Sidorova improved world season best in women’s pole vault as well as her indoor personal best to 495. She also tried 5m. “I’m more than satisfied with the current indoor season which finished beyond all my expectations. I’m glad I still had the power to try five meters for the first time in my life. It’s worth to attempt, and it’s necessary to try at such a height before overcoming it,” Sidorova told TASS. Second Angelina Zhuk-Krasnova, third Polina Knoroz and fourth Irina Ivanova all went over 460. In men’s competition, European silver medallist Timur Morgunov won with 570 ahead of Georgiy Gorokhov 560. 15-year-old Matvey Volkov again improved his PB to 550 Russian U18 record as third. Mikhail Shykov was fourth with same result.
