The Weltklasse, held four days after the ending of the 2011 World Champs, has some amazing fields! The women’s pole vault, with Jenn Suhr, Anna Rogowska, and Yelena Insibayeva, will be surely one to watch, as that event in the World is one of the most onerous to pick a winner!

Anna Rogowska, reigning world champ, verus Olympic silver medalist Jenn Suhr, and 24 time world record holder, Olympic gold medalist Yelena Isinbayeva.

My gut tells me Isinbayeva would not be out there without the desire to climb the wr charts and top of the podium. Suhr has the wheels and guts to take it all, and Rogowska, she knows how to win, and is just great to watch vault.

Pick that one, my friends!

Press Release Weltklasse Zürich – 22 August 2011

Suhr and Rogowska to challenge Yelena Isinbayeva at Weltklasse Zürich – 18 world leaders to compete in as many events

Only
just before the world championships in Daegu get under way, two stellar
pole vaulters have been added to the Weltklasse Zürich line-up:
Jennifer Suhr (USA), leader of the 2011 top list, and the reigning world
champion Anna Rogowska (POL) will both try to fly high at Letzigrund
Stadium on 8 September. The entry lists for Zurich include the world
leaders of all 18 disciplines scheduled this year’s event.

The
women’s pole vault will be one of the highlights in Zurich on Thursday,
8 September. All nine athletes of the 2011 top list will be there to
provide the fans in the north bend of the stadium with an exciting pole
vault parade. All competitors in the event have jumped 4.70m or higher
during the current season. In addition to Jennifer Suhr (4.91m), and
Anna Rogowska (4.75m), world record holder Yelena Isinbayeva
(RUS/4.76m), the new German record holder Martina Strutz (4.78m), and
the leader of this year’s Diamond Race Silke Spiegelburg (GER/4.75m) are
in for the airshow. The two Swiss world championships starters Nicole
Büchler (4.50m) and Anna Katharina Schmid (4.45m), as well as world
junior record holder Angelica Bengtsson of Sweden (4.57m) will round out
the prestigious field.

The standing area in the north bend is an
ideal position to watch the pole vault competition from up close.
Tickets are still available at www.weltklassezuerich.ch.

Last
week, the Weltklasse Zürich promoters announced the provisional entry
list for their 2011 programme of events. The impressive entry lists
include14 (individual) Olympic champions, 16 reigning world champions,
and 17 world leaders. Weltklasse Zürich will be the first major meeting
