OSTRAVA: The star of the 62nd Golden Spike Ostrava (WACT Gold) is pole vaulter Armand “Mondo” Duplantis of Sweden. The world record holder has already been confirmed for this year’s edition on June 27th in the municipal stadium. The meeting continues the trend of showcasing the absolute best names in the sport. The 23-year-old set the world record last year at 6.21 meters outdoors and 6.20 meters indoors and is the reigning Olympic, European, and world champion indoors and outdoors. He started the 2023 season with 6.10 meters, the best start of the season that a pole vaulter has ever made.
