It is her indoor personal best and only for third time in her career she jumped seven meters. The series: 700-f-f-p-689-692. She plans to try to qualify for the European indoor championships in Goteborg. In pole vault Anton Ivakin cleared 550 cm and Denis Bogdanov leaped to 773 in men long jump.

Mutaz 233
VAXJO (SWE, Jan 20): Qatari olympic high jump medalist Mutaz Essa Barshim shows great shape already early in the season. At Best Western Games indoor meet he cleared first world lead 231 in first attempt and then second one at 233 in second attempt, had afterwards attempts at 235 cm. His next meeting is in Hustopece at Moravia High Jump Tour on Saturday where he will take on Ivan Ukhov and Jesse Williams.

Trost 198
UDINE (ITA, Jan 20): Italian High Jump World Junior champion Alessia Trost cleared 198 in Udine on Sunday morning setting Italian Indoor Under 23 record which improves the previous age-group record set by Antonella Bevilacqua who cleared 195 in Genova in 1993. Trost is now ranked as the second italian jumper in history behind Antonietta Di Martino's 204 set in Banska Bystrica in 2011 tying Antonella Bevilacqua's 198 set in Athens in 1994. She jumped one cm higher than Sara Simeoni who had an indoor PB of 197 in Grenoble in 1981. Trost cleared 180, 185 and 190 in her first attempt and 195 at the second time of asking before her jump at 198 at the third attempt. She had a taste at 200 where she had two unsuccessful tries. What makes the result more remarkable is that Trost was supposed to make just a test. "I had no expectations before the competition. I narrowly missed 1.95 last summer and I knew that this height was within my reach and it was just a matter of time. My coach Gianfranco Chessa told me that I jumped very well at 1.95 and I could jump higher. I jumped 1.98 in my third attempt. It was a great feeling. It was strange to make the attempt at 2 metres. This is a awesome height. I am aware of what I did today but I want to start from scratch and re-focus. I changed the run-up and this allows to be faster when I take off," she said. Her next meetings Hustopece and Trinec at Moravia High Jump Tour in Czech Republic.
