Meb Keflezighi won the Boston Marathon on April 21, 2014. In a race where Meb went early to the lead, and fought off marathoners four minutes faster than him over the last two miles, Meb mesmerized American running fans with his victory.

Meeting Meb Keflezighi at the finish was Greg Meyer, the 1983 Boston champion, the last American man who won Boston. Meb was first American to win in 29 years and first American male to win Boston in 31 years.
How fitting that, a year after the senseless bombing of the Boston marathon finish, a young man who exemplifies the American dream, breaks the drought. Meb Keflezighi, Meb strong, you have done us proud!
For those reasons, RunBlogRun names Meb Keflezighi as our American athlete of the month for April 2014! Special thanks to the video, produced by the Shoe Addicts!
