BIRMINGHAM (GBR): Following a site visit, the IAAF has confirmed they are pleased with the city’s preparations ahead of the World Indoor Championships in Birmingham in 2018, informs organisers. “The IAAF delegation came with high expectations and we were not disappointed. Knowing what the City of Birmingham and UK Athletics have delivered in the past, already gave us confidence in the organisation and our two days in Birmingham confirmed these expectations. We were particularly impressed with the refurbishments to the indoor arena,” said IAAF Competition and Events Director Paul Hardy. Birmingham hosted the 2003 edition of the World Indoor Championships and the 2007 European Indoor Championships.
RunBlogRun opines: Birmingham is a fun city. I have been going there for a decade to watch both indoor and outdoor track and visit friends. The city has fun museums, great art, neighborhoods, canal paths to run on, and fine food, among other things! Put the 2018 World Indoor Champs on your schedule!
