Mare Dibaba gets Great Scottish Run
GLASGOW (GBR, Sep 30): Former world marathon champion Mare Dibaba from Ethiopia won the half marathon title at the Great Scottish Run in 69:15 ahead of the Frankfurt Marathon next month. Reigning world marathon champion Rose Chelimo from Bahrain was second in 70:07 with the United States’ Alia Gray third in 73:32. Chris Thompson took a gun-to-tape win in the men’s race in 62:07 to defend his title ahead of Poland’s Marcin Chabowski (62:24). Wins for Adam Craig (29:43) and Gemma Steel (34:00) in the 10km.
