Souza 10.17, Tenorio 11.09, great hammer
CUENCA (ECU, Sep 29): First day of South American U23 Championships saw fast 100 m races. In the men category Derick De Souza clocked 10.17 (+0.3) for Brazil, in women category home Angela Tenorio achieved 11.09 (+1.0) ahead of Brazilian Vitoria Rosa 11.17. Colombian Anthony Zambrano (20) improved in the 400 m to good 45.19 ahead of two Brazilian runners born in 2000. Alison Alves 45.97 and Bruno Benedito 46.23. In women 400 m top two for U20 runners, Chile´s Martina Weil (daughter of Ximena Restrepo and Gert Weil) 52.60 national record and Brazilian Tiffani Marinho 52.95. Great hammer by Chilean Humberto Mansilla 76.87 (not only national record but also South American U23 record) over Argentinian Joaquin Gomez 75.96 PB and another Chilean Gabriel Kehr 74.31 PB. In the hurdles wins for Brazilians Rafael Campos 13.76 (+1.2) and Micaela Rosa (born in 2000) 13.31 (-1.4). Juliana Campos went over 440 in the pole vault and Wellington Morais won men shot 19.85. Home Ecuador clocked 44.18 in women 4×100 m.
