The upcoming European Athletics event, Europe vs. USA, will happen in Minsk on September 9-10. The meet will be televised by NBC TV and the chance of developing a meeting with EAA and USATF has been discussed for several years.
Ambassadors for Europe v USA
MINSK (BLR): Ramil Guliyev, Mariya Lasitskene and Ekaterini Stefanidi have been announced as athletes ambassadors for The Match Europe v USA in Minsk on 9-10 September. The announcement marked 100 days to go until the inaugural event. European Athletics president Svein Arne Hansen, whose idea the event was, said: “One hundred days to go is an important milestone and will focus everyone’s attention on The Match, athletes and fans alike, and I’m sure they will all start putting the meeting in their calendars if they haven’t already. Preparations are well under way, ticket sales are going well, TV production planning is advancing nicely, and I know first hand that the Dinamo National Olympic Stadium is a very worthy venue. I am feeling very confident that this historic competition will also be a spectacular one.”
