The Odlozil Memorial is named after Czech star Josef Odlozil. He was the silver medalist in the 1964 Olympic 1,500m, taking second to Peter Snell, with John Davies in third. Odlozil also set a World Record at 2000m in 5:01.2. He died in 1993.
The meet features stars of Czech athletics against some of the big names in global athletics.

PRAHA (CZE): The 26th Odlozil Memorial (EA Classic) will have this year on Monday (June 3) as home headliners Pavel Maslak in the 400 m (against Baboloki Thebe and Vernon Norwood), Zuzana Hejnova in 400 m hurdles, Tomas Stanek in shot put (against Orazio Cremona and Joe Kovacs), Jakub Holusa in season opener at 1500 m (memorial event) together with Filip Sasinek and strong Kenyans Hillary Ngetich and Justus Soget. In javelin Jakub Vadlejch and in long jump Radek Juska versus Serhiy Nykyforov. Swiss Selina Buchel runs the 800 m, Antonio Alkana the 110 m hurdles, Kenny Selmon and Johnny Dutch the 400 m hurdles, Axel Chapelle and home star Jan Kudlicka are the top pole vault names. Men´s 100 m has European record holder Jimmy Vicaut with South African Thando Roto and Jamaican Tyquendo Tracey along with World and European Indoor champion Richard Kilty.
