Cheptegei thinks 10 000 m WR
KAMPALA (UGA): After breaking the world 5000m record in the Monaco Diamond League, Uganda’s Joshua Cheptegei has hinted that he might try and challenge the world 10,000m record fairly soon, informs LetsRun.com. “If all goes well, I might do something special. I have a surprise. I might run a 10,000 meters very soon. We are almost getting close to it. Maybe Jurrie [van der Velden, his manager] will have more of an update than me, but I’m sure that maybe in two weeks, you’ll really see something cooking up. There’s something on plan, but I don’t want to mention about it. Jurrie will say about it,” he said. Cheptegei is also aiming to make his half marathon debut at the World Half Marathon Championships which are still due to take place in Gdynia, Poland this October.
