Tyson Gay is the three time World Championship gold medalist from 2007, in the 100 meters, 200 meters and 4 x 100m relay. In 2009, Tyson Gay took second in the 100 meters, in the fastest non-winning time for 100 meters in history (9.71), to Usain Bolt’s 9.58.

Tyson Gay is the four time US champion at 100 meters. He has run 6.55 for the 60 meters, 9.69 for the 100 meters, 19.58 for the 200 meter with curve, and 19.41 for the 200 meter straight. His best over 400 meters is 44.89.

Tyson Gay is the American record holder in the 100 meters, which is 9.69 and was run in September 2009 at the Shanghai Grand Prix.

On July 14, 2013, Tyson Gay announced that he had received the notice of an adverse result to his out-of-competition testing on May 16, 2013, by USADA. Tyson Gay removed himself from the US team for the Moscow World Championships, admitted his error and noted, ” I will take my punishiment like a man.”

On Monday, July 15, 2013, adidas sent the following release on the suspension of Tyson Gay’s sponsorship by adidas:

Here is the complete release from adidas regarding Tyson Gay:

“adidas and Tyson Gay have been partners since 2005 and during this time he has been a great ambassador for the sport of track and field and our brand.

We are shocked by these recent allegations, and even if we presume his innocence until proven otherwise, our contract with Tyson is currently suspended.

adidas has a clear policy on doping and drug use each of the agreements with our athletes include a clear clause which states that the agreement shall be terminated by adidas if the athlete is found guilty of the possession or use of drugs or any other prohibited substance by the relevant governing sports body having jurisdiction over the athlete.”
