If you want to be a better runner, you need to run. You run fast, you run slow, you run long, you run uphills, you run down hills, you run on tracks. Wow, that sure is a lot of running. 


We are now into week three, and this is where it starts to get interesting. Your body will begin to notice the increased training. You will always be hungry (eat veggies, fruit, nuts, yep, protein, and keep the soda and junk to a minimum). 

Be careful running in the heat. It sneaks up on you. So, where a hat, drink water before and after, and during hot runs.

Goals: We’ll begin running 6 days a week and the 7 days a week can begin for juniors, seniors. For college athletes, add a second run 3 times a week, of 35-40 minutes of easy running on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. 


Monday: Warm up, 40-45 minutes easy running, then 3 x 150 meter strideouts, cool down.
