Sandi Morris 488, Ryan Crouser 22.01 lead Drake Relays
DES MOINES (USA, Apr 28): Ryan Crouser won the shot put in his season debut with excellent 22.01 during final day of Drake Relays. He beat World leader and World Indoor champion Tom Walsh 21.82, third Curtis Jensen 21.18. Another top mark 488 by Sandi Morris in pole vault ahead of Jenn Suhr 470 and Katie Nageotte 450. Fast hurdles by World record holder Keni Harrison 12.37 but wind-aided +2.5 ahead of Tobi Amusan 12.61 and Kori Carter 12.81. In the men 100 m Isiah Young 10.02 (+1.9) beating Mike Rodgers 10.03 and Chijindu Ujah 10.13 with Olympic medalist Andre De Grasse fourth in 10.15 in his first competition since July 2017. In men hurdles Devon Allen won in 13.42 (-1.3) ahead of World record holder Aries Merritt 13.45. Bahamian Jeffery Gibson won the 400 m hurdles 49.09, among women Georganne Moline 54.86 ahead of Olympic winner Dalilah Muhammad 55.08. Reggie Jagers won the discus 64.59 over Jamaican Travis Smikle 64.07 and Purdue clocked 3:28.42 in women 4×400 m.
