This is Week Three, Day 1 of the 2022 RunBlogRun Fall Cross Country Training & Racing program provided by RunBlogRun. We will provide cross-country training suggestions until late December 2022.  Today is September 12, 2022. It is a recovery day and the first day of the week three of our Fall Cross Country program.

Our photo today is of Alicia Monson, who runs for ON Athletic Club, coached by Dathan Ritzenhein. 2022 has been a magical year for Alicia, who began 2022 with a big win over 3000m at the Millrose Games, running 8:31.62 on January 29. At the US Champs for the 10,000m, Alicia took second in 30:51.09, her new PB. Alicia followed that up with a 5000m PB of 14:31.11 at the Bislett Games on June 16, 2022. Her most exciting performance of the summer? Her 3000m at the Allianz Memorial Van Damme, where she surpassed the 1983 record of one Mary Slaney, with her 8:26.81, while holding onto the lead until the last meters of the race! Alicia is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin and is coached by Dathan Ritzenhein.
