This is our feature on your Sunday workout, the long run, and why it is so darn important. Keep it modest, as you had big cross country races yesterday, please. This is Week Nine, Day Seven, October 20, 2022.

Many states across the U.S. had their state cross-country meets yesterday, and the other 20 states will be hosting them over the next couple of weekends.
Following state meets, we have NXN Regionals, and FootLocker Regionals (Friday after Thanksgiving), and the NXN and FootLocker finals.
If you take the moment to reflect, you will see how much you improved this season and know that all the bases you have built will surely help you in spring track & field and indoor track & field. We will address those later.
Today is a long run day, and we suggest 60-75 minutes of moderate running. You notice that I note moderate running. Most of your training should be at a moderate pace, which will improve as you gain fitness.
Long runs, which I did twice a week during college, were my weekly mental breaks. I free-formed thought and let my brain wander. I dod that still on long walks and consider it as important as breathing.
Today, your workout is, warm up, 60-75 minutes of moderate running, and a good cooldown.
