Blessing Okagbare 22.04 AR and WL
ABILENE (USA, Mar 24): Sensational African 200 m record by Blessing Okagbare from Nigeria with 22.04 World lead (+0.5). Former official mark was 22.07 by Mary Onyali also from Nigeria from Zurich meet in 1996. Okagbare´s former top mark was 22.23 from 2014. At Wes Kittley Invitational to note also another interesting mark by a Nigerian, Fabian Edoki improved in long jump to 810 (+1.6). Second Jamaican Odaine Lewis 808 (+2.1, legal 790 +1.6 PB) and third Lutalo Boyce 803 (+1.6) PB. Universiade finalist Emmanuel Yeboah from Ghana achieved 10.29 (+0.6) in the 100 m and Spanish Francisco Javier Lopez windy 13.67 (+2.9) over the hurdles.
RunBlogRun opines: Blessing Okagbare is coming into fantastic shape prior to the Commonwealth Games, where she won both the 100 meters and 200 meters in Glasgow 2014. With a new pb of 22.04 for 200 meters and her 2013 100 meter PB of 10.79. Blessing is running the Texas Relays 100 meters this coming weekend.
