This is the results of the Midwest Regional races, held in Kenosha, WI, on November 26, 2022. 

Tatum David and Hunter Jones Capture First Place Titles in the 43rd Annual Champs Sports Cross Country Championships Midwest Regional

RACE HIGHLIGHTS:

Tatum David of Olney, Ill., and Hunter Jones of Thompsonville, Mich., won the Champs Sports Cross Country (formerly Foot Locker CC) Championships Midwest Regional today. David, a senior at Richland County High School, claimed the title in the girls’ championship race in 17:16.3. Sophia Kennedy, a senior from Carmel, Ind., finished second in 17:24.5 and Paityn Noe, a senior from Huxley, Iowa, placed third in 17:35.4. Kennedy and the ninth-place finisher in today’s race, Gretchen Farley of Indianapolis, Ind., participated in last year’s national championship event in San Diego, Calif. and thus are two-time national qualifiers along with David who qualified in 2019.

Jones, a senior from Benzie Central High School, took the title in the boys’ championship race in 14:52.2. Kole Mathison, a senior from Carmel, Ind., finished second in 15:02.3 and Noah Breker, a senior from Plymouth, Minn., finished third in 15:04.8. The top two finishers in today’s race, Jones and Mathison, both competed at the national championships last year in San Diego, Calif.

5,000-meter course; good course conditions; 45 degrees; slight winds; sunny skies

NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS:

The top 10 boys and the top 10 girls in the championship races qualify to compete against runners from the South, Northeast, and West Regional meets in the Champs Sports Cross Country Championships National Finals on Saturday, Dec. 10, 2022, at Morley Field, Balboa Park in San Diego, Calif.
